Zion Park District
Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course
Donation Policy
The Zion Park District’s Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course recognizes the importance of charitable organizations and supports many nonprofit agencies and local programs throughout the community. Being a good community partner is important to the mission of the Zion Park District.
Each year, Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course receives numerous requests seeking support for worthwhile causes and events. While the Zion Park District acknowledges that many organizations serve important causes, unfortunately every donation request cannot be fulfilled. Shepherd’s Crook strives to accommodate as many requests as possible given its limited resources and budget. To ensure donations are distributed fairly and responsibly, the Zion Park District Board of Commissioners has established the following donation request policy for Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course.
To be considered to receive a donation from Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course, one of the following criteria must be met:
- Local taxing body within Zion Benton Township
- Illinois Park District or its Foundation, or an Illinois Forest Preserve District
- Zion based not-for-profit that provides a service to the residents of Zion
- Group with a long-standing relationship with the Zion Park District
- Strategic partner of the Zion Park District
Note:
- For an organization’s request to be considered, the required donation request form must be completed and submitted.
- If an organization has received a donation from Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course in the past, that does not ensure the organization will receive a donation in the future.
- A donation budget is established each year; no additional donations will be granted once the annual threshold is met.
- Shepherd’s Crook staff have authority to not honor any donation certificate believed to be obtained in a manner other than for its intended donation purpose.
